David Fischer Absolutely numbing and punishing, albeit melodic and well-structured Raw Black Metal. There's some really good efforts in the German BM scene at the moment, and Nimbifer should be on your radar. The lo-fi sound further enhances the punishing nature of this compilation. Favorite track: Kadaver.

Ippocalyptica When a band can outplay the legendary Sargeist at their own game, you know that you have something very special before you, and such is the case with NIMBIFER’s demo compilation. This is unbridled raw black metal that is full of both triumphant and melancholic melodies, the instrumental and vocal intensity of which brings to mind Det eviga leendet’s stunning debut album. NIMBIFER is a band to watch very closely, for when they release their debut LP, it will likely be cataclysmic. Favorite track: Der Herrscher.

The crackle both summons a cold campfire and a Nosferatu film reel. What a fantastic atmosphere. This is everything black metal should be: dark, gothic, icy, emotive, depressed and triumphant, yet dare I say, romantic. Romance in the modern sense as well as in the older sense of passion and drama, stage plays in dim and melancholy theatres. The pacing and breath within and between songs is also phenomenal.
